Jessi’s Journey Foundation
The Foundation’s Mission Statement
In memory of Jessi, we established the Jessi’s Journey Foundation. The primary purpose of this foundation is to raise funds to assist families whose child has been diagnosed with brain cancer and to provide an annual scholarship to a student who is majoring in early childhood education at the University of Mount Union.
The Meaning of Jessi’s Journey Foundation Logo
As the Jessi’s Journey Foundation grows and reaches out to families impacted by childhood brain cancer and those that support our foundation, it is important to us that Jessi’s story continues to be shared.
To make our logo more personal to Jessi’s life, we have changed the colors of our logo to share more about our daughter Jessi. The colors of the logo represent the following:
The gold giraffe encircled by purple represents two of Jessi’s favorite things, her favorite animal and her favorite color.
The color gold represents the official color for Childhood Cancer Awareness. The gold color symbolizes how precious children are and the resiliency of childhood cancer heroes.
The combination of gold and purple represents the North Royalton School colors, where Jessi attended from elementary school through high school.
The color grey represents Brain Cancer Awareness, which is the type of cancer Jessi battled for the final three years of her Journey here on earth.
The combination of Purple and Grey represents the University of Mount Union, where Jessi began her college Journey to fulfill her dream of becoming an early childhood education teacher.
Jessi’s Story
Jessi came into the world on January 28, 1996 as our MIRACLE child. As our only child, Jessi quickly became our HERO for the next 21 plus years. Throughout Jessi’s 21 years of life, you rarely saw her without a smile. A smile so contagious, it made those around her smile. On September 26, 2017, Jessi became our GUARDIAN ANGEL as God called her home.
Since the 4th grade, Jessi always wanted to be a teacher and pursued her dream of teaching by attending the University of Mount Union. Although she didn’t graduate, before brain cancer took her life, she taught us and so many others in her life to trust God, have a strong faith, live life to its fullest and SMILE.
In memory of Jessi, we established the Jessi’s Journey Foundation. The primary purpose of this foundation is to raise funds to assist families whose child has been diagnosed with brain cancer and to provide an annual scholarship to a student who is majoring in early childhood education at the University of Mount Union.
